Dr. Manjeet Singh Trehan

Dr Manjeet is a senior medical professional, with more than 33 years of knowledge and experience into varied facets of the working of the human body. His keen interest and expertise lies in Rheumatoid Arthritis, Gastrointestinal issues, Diabetes with years of helping patients through upper GI Endoscopy & Colonoscopy.

His MBBS graduation was from IGMC Shimla in 1987, and completed his MD Medicine at PGIMER Chandigarh in 1991. His work life started as senior resident in the department of internal Medicine(Rheumatology unit) at PGI Chandigarh and later moved to the Hepatology Department. In 1995, he joined Punjab Civil Medical Services from which he retired in Jan’22, and then joined the coveted Fortis Hospital where he is currently working as Additional Director. 

All through his tenure, he had been actively involved in Medical OPD and wards including Covid ward, managing all sorts of complicated medical emergencies related to Cardiovascular system (heart), Respiratory system (lungs), Nervous system (brain), Urinary system (kidneys), Gastrointestinal system, Diabetes, Covid, poisonings and intoxication etc. 

Dr Manjeet also played an active role in the DNB programme at GMSH-16 Chandigarh right from the start and was involved in teaching and research activities of DNB students. He has also contributed to the implementation of various national programmes in UT. 

He is a proud awardee of the state award for meritorious services in 2021, for his key role as District Immunization Officer for Chandigarh, during the Covid Pandemic.

Dr Manjeet has also made various public appearances as an expert in various TV, News and Radio Channels for different subjects on public awareness and health education. 

His philosophy is to treat a human being in a holistic way and not to treat diseases nor the medical reports. He exercise the art of healing. His emphasis is to listen to the person and make a bond between the fellow human beings, while counselling them to become a healthier version of themselves. Faith, belief and confidence are all important parts of human psychology and an important aspect to the process of healing.

In addition to his active and busy OPD & Indoor schedule, he is regular in organizing his interactive sessions and lectures in schools & colleges including social, corporate & medical organizations and online platforms. He is also providing online consultations to clients all over the globe. Geriatrics (care of elderly) is his special area of interest

His hobbies and passion outside of work include music, culture and world affairs.
